Boost your donations with Gift Aid!
Everybody loves to get something for nothing – and that’s exactly what Gift Aid is all about.
Gift Aid is a scheme administered by the Inland Revenue which allows us to claim 25p for every £1 that you donate. So, if you donate £20, we can claim an extra £5, making your gift worth £25.
Our Fundraising and Retail teams invite you to opt in to their separate Gift Aid schemes. Doing this help us boost every one of your donations. It only takes two ticks and it costs you nothing!
If you are a UK resident and taxpayer, then by filling out one of our short forms below we can reclaim the tax you have already paid on any donations you give to us.
Simple steps to Gift Aid!
Fundraising donations
Ticking that little box makes a real difference to patients and their families across our local community.
When you fundraise for Dorothy House and Gift Aid your donation, you boost your gift by 25%!
Complete the short form below and post it back to us!
Retail donations
By opting in to the Retail Gift Aid scheme, we can collect 25% more whenever we sell something you donated to our shops.
It means that, for every £1 Dorothy House raises from the sale of your donated goods, we’ll get an extra 25p.
All we need you to do is complete the attached form and return it with your donated items to our office by post or drop it in one of our shops! Easy!
There’s no need to register each time you donate!
You only need to fill out a declaration form, once for Fundraising and once for Retail.
When you pop in to one of our shops with your pre-loved goods, they’ll ask for your surname and postcode. This goes on a little sticker and when your donation is processed, the barcode is matched to your Gift Aid.
Any donations you make in the future are covered. There is no extra paperwork – we deal with the tax office to reclaim the tax. All we need is your declaration form.
Using the declaration forms on this page, we can claim Gift Aid on all your donations in the last 4 years and all future donations.
Important message:
If you’re paying less income tax or capital gains tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year, it’s your responsibility to repay any difference. This is currently 25p for every £1 you give.
