Thrifted, Sustainable Fashion from Dorothy House All Year Round

From midday on 18 November 2020 lovers of thrifted, sustainable fashion can now find gorgeous, curated style at our online shop, dorothyhouse.shop, all year round.

You can shop to look great and feel good, knowing that your clothing choices save beautiful things from going to landfill and support health and social care in your community.

Finding luxe looks for less from the convenience of your device, wherever you are, is now super simple, as our team have done all the hard work for you. We’ve sorted the most unique and special items for our online collection and will be putting up new finds every day. You’ll be sure to get that thrifting fix but without having to rummage!

It’s a great new project with lots of opportunities for collaboration in the community.  We’ve already benefited from the support of the Rondo Theatre in Larkhall and a local creative team who pulled together some amazing photographs of local volunteer models in Dorothy House charity shop finds. The theatre made a suitable backdrop for a collection of glamourous and avant-garde looks. The team are also already buzzing from the contribution of digital volunteers, who will be helping to provide online interesting news, articles and advice on thrifting, as well as processing the stock online, remotely and safely as and when needed.

If you’d like to volunteer in this area and are a wordsmith or photographer please do get in touch. Just by taking a quick picture of your favourite finds, your daily walks or images at home, or by even making a short, fun video, you can provide valuable promotional material that we can use to attract more supporters to our site and really raise the funds we need.

If you enjoy writing, we’d love to hear what inspires you about charity shops, whether you just love finding a bargain, you’re a keen crafter and like to upcycle, or you are an avid collector of vintage. We want to make space for you on our blog and social media pages so we can all hear your fashion and style wins and fails, both the serious and the humorous!
