Paws in the Park – Dorothy House sponsored dog walk raises nearly £10,000!
On Sunday 8 October, Dorothy House held their very first sponsored dog walk and dog show at Southwick Country Park Nature Reserve in Trowbridge.
Over 60 humans and their four legged friends came together to raise funds for end of life and palliative care in our community, raising just under £10,000.
All participants who walked the 5k route received an event-branded t-shirt and matching dog bandana for their pooch, with goody bags full of treats at the finish line. Dorothy House would like to thank those who contributed to the sponsored dog walk by donating items for the bags, including the Doghouse in Bradford on Avon, Garston Vets, West Woofs, Pets Corner, Baber Animal Feeds and Bowen Head Toe Tail.
The event was held in partnership with Fairfield Animal Centre, a charity that provides jobs for young adults with learning disabilities.
The day finished with a fun dog show which was kindly sponsored by Vets4Pets in Trowbridge, where local hounds competed for the honour of being crowned ‘Handsomest Dog’ and ‘Waggiest Tail’, to name but a few!
Thanks to everyone who came and supported Dorothy House.
