The Dorothy House Firewalk took place at Winsley House on Thursday 9 November. The rain may have been driving and the air was chilly, but the atmosphere was glowing with lots of supporters coming to cheer on the intrepid walkers. Luckily, the rain eased off when the team began the hot coals challenge.
In the end, 43 intrepid supporters took on the immense task of walking on fire and they absolutely smashed it!
So what did the Dorothy House firewalkers think?
Nina Hemmens took part and said:
“It was a fantastic experience and really empowering.”
Carol, a member of our first aid team faced the challenge and said it was
“an incredible experience and it has definitely enriched my life. Now we are just trying to convince my first aid colleague to sign up to the Ice Bath Challenge!”
The Firewalk event raised an outstanding £16,000 for Dorothy House, with final monies still coming in.
Well done to everyone!
We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our walkers for taking on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
