Meet the Need Appeal – thank you!

Our recent Meet the Need Appeal was launched to help bridge the gap in hospice care, an issue currently facing hospices across the country. The need for investment in hospice care is paramount – especially as the number of people requiring end of life care is set to rise by 55% by 2031.

Meeting the Need

We know that we cannot currently care for the number of patients who will need us, and so we are incredibly grateful for the generous donations Dorothy House has received from across our community.

“Without Hospice at Home we would have been lost as a family. It’s an incredible organisation, full of amazing people. The carers that visited us conducted themselves with such love.

They offered practical help and guided and prepared us in a gentle way. Sometimes when they came to visit Debbie was asleep, so they’d sit and talk with me in the garden. Receiving care at home meant we could fill the house with family and friends.” – Family member of Dorothy House patient.

We are delighted to let you know that in total, our appeal has now raised over £40,000. Every penny of which will go directly towards delivering vital patient and family care.

The challenge is immense, but the objective is clear: to ensure that nobody in our community has to face death alone.
