Bath choir CitySound Voices’ next concert will be a unique event. Sounds of Our City, on 15 March at the Roper Theatre, will celebrate – with music, pictures and words – the lives and works of musicians with strong links to the city.

This very special event will raise vital funds for Dorothy House Hospice Care.

Sounds of our City will feature works by Eighteen Century residents such as Herschel and Linley plus visitors to the city Haydn and Handel. There will also be pieces by Harington, Bayly and Tippett as well as by more modern local icons such as Van Morrison and Jamie Callum.

To perform this ambitious programme the choir will be joined by violinist Ruth O’Shea and her Bath Strings Academy, who will premier a work specially commissioned for the concert by local composer David Garcia. Also performing will be the talented musical duo MGB and The Saxations, a group of gifted young musicians from West of England Music and Arts.

Conducted by Musical Director, Matt Finch

CitySound Voices will be conducted by their Musical Director, the indefatigable Matt Finch (who is also composing a work especially for the event). The evening will be compered by the well-known Bath journalist and broadcaster Richard Wyatt.
