It’s a common misconception that a hospice is a place where someone goes to die. While it’s true that a patient may come to stay at Dorothy House to spend the final few days of their life, there are several other reasons why they come to stay with us. A patient may stay at the Hospice Inpatient Unit (IPU) to have their needs assessed, for symptom management, or to help them adjust to physical changes because of their illness.
