Firefly Celebration Evenings – September 2024

Thank you to everyone who attended our Firefly Celebration Evenings. We welcomed over 500 people over the two events, which were held on Thursday, 19 and Saturday, 21 September in the grounds of Winsley House. The celebrations offered the opportunity for those in our community who have dedicated a Firefly in memory of a loved one to come together and remember the people special to them who are no longer here.

The Dorothy House Firefly Celebration evenings

The events were deeply moving, accompanied by beautiful live music played by a harpist in our Firefly Woods. Words were spoken in honour of loved ones, memories were shared, and the twinkling lights of the Fireflies gently dancing on the breeze reminded attendees that special moments filled with love are never forgotten.

Thanks to the support of our wonderful Firefly community, the Firefly Appeal has so far raised over £42,000; and incredible sum that has helped so many of our patients and their families through the hardest of times.

Dedicate a Firefly

If you would like to dedicate a light in someone’s memory, dedications can be made any time of the year and your Firefly can be renewed annually. The space is yours to visit whenever you like and you will be invited to attend our annual Dorothy House Firefly Celebration evenings to meet the Firefly community at Dorothy House.
